Unable to Upload Photos or Gifs to Tumblr

And so I've been looking through the ''Error uploading photograph'' tag and I see nothing but complaining, and the worst is that nobody is doing annihilation to assist. (EDIT: i mean seriously does it take too much of an effort to scroll this tag a scrap to find this postal service???? lament on that tag wont solve anything smh) I call back a actually good tutorial from a k-pop blog but I can't detect it ;A; so I'll try to share some of my tips to upload those annoying oversaturated gifs.

Used tools:

• Photoshop CS5 extended (Y'all can utilize any version)
• Grainy textures. Yous tin can observe grainy textures here.

The near probable reason your gifs aren't uploading is considering they are either oversaturated/have likewise many frames, though the second choice is very unusual, simply it happens.

• Grainy textures

For some reason, tumblr doesn't similar strong cyan/magenta colors, or any other oversaturated color. This is when the grainy textures come up.

Grainy textures are great when it comes to ''dissimulate'' the low quality of the gif (For example, you lot accept this gif that was 1,3 mb but you lowered the quality in order to go the size to 999kb.) It besides makes a not bad effect, and the good role is that it can help us avert this error. This is what I do:

I usually set up the texture to screen, and lower the opacity to 20%-forty%, depending on how saturated the frames are.

IMPORTANT!!

Always think to unify the texture to each frame. (This option is extremely useful, as it will employ whatever option you choose to all your frames.) You lot can do this by simply clicking the third push button of the unify selection, every bit shown in the picture below.

Play with the opacity setting until you get the gif to upload. Call back that our start priority is to upload the gif and try to leave the coloring intact even though it is hard. • Fill up layer

This is an option that doesn't always work with my gifs, but it is worth mentioning it.

If your gif is either oversaturated in cyan/magenta colors, you demand to ''residuum'' the colors. What you lot wanna do is to create a new fill up layer with solid colour.

If your gif is oversaturated in cyan, you'll choose a light pink colour, and if your gif is oversaturated in magenta, choose a light blue colour. Play with the opacity pick of the fill layer until it uploads.  If it doesn't, move onto the next selection.

• Desaturation and depression vibrance

Personally, I don't like this pick, just your gif will definitely upload, every bit the master problem is your gif saturation, desaturating it is an obvious solution that volition piece of work 99% of the time, but we don't want those colors gone!

Recommendation? Play with both the saturation/vibrance settings until y'all go your gif to upload. At this point, playing with the levels/curves is not recommended, just you tin always give it a try!

Only apparently, Tumblr doesn't like gifs with more than 45/50 frames. This gif, as it is right now, won't upload. It has exactly 117 frames, and it is 88kb. What you wanna practise is to reduce the amount of frames to either fifty/45. If you don't want to decrease the amount of frames, you can always lower the saturation, but there'south like a thirty% risk it will work, and most of the colors will be gone. It's upwardly to you.

• Black and white choice and recoloring with PSDs

The black and white choice will near likely permit your gif be uploaded, but all the colors will exist gone. There's similar a ten% gamble it won't work, and this is when you have to lower the saturation as well. Past now, your gif won't have any colors, so you might want to think twice earlier uploading your gif, equally tumblr users are really picky.

If you can't get your gif to upload, then endeavor to mix some of the options above and your gif will definitely upload.
